The Windermere range of ceiling lights and wall lights are a traditional rustic wrought iron lighting range by Elstead lighting. This quality traditional style ironwork lighting range will accept lamp shades if required. The optional shades available are a silk effect cotton shade in Brown.

All of the Windermere ceiling and wall lights by Elstead lighting take standard candle light bulbs. The optional shades would then sit on the candle bulbs. Standard candle bulbs are suitable for use with a dimmer switch. If you use low energy candle bulbs, please note that energy saving bulbs cannot always be dimmed. Dimmable low energy light bulbs would need to be used.

Crystal ceiling lights and crystal wall lights come in distinctively different styles. Traditional designs such as the Marie Therese crystal chandeliers and wall lights evoke the feel of grand old houses from a bygone era. You can easily recreate the look and feel of a large stately home in your own house as the beautiful light fittings are available in small sizes such as the 5 light Marie Therese ceiling light. Polished Brass and Chrome finishes are available adorned in sumptuous crystal droplets and glass sconces. The Chrome finish version mixes old and new. The new Chrome finish is complimented by the traditional crystal chandelier design.

Of course you don’t have to have a house with high ceilings to enjoy old style medieval ceiling lights. Many of the ceiling lights will be suitable for mounting on lower ceilings. Flush ceiling lights in an old medieval traditional style such as the Pembroke or the Torchiere can be mounted on low ceilings.

Low energy light bulbs can be used in these light fittings if required. Energy saving light bulbs are generally not compatible with a dimmer switch, although now there are some energy saving light bulbs that will work with a standard dimmer switch.
