Using low energy lamps if possible is a good idea as lamp replacement is cut down to a minimum. Outside recessed lights should generally have at least an IP65 rating. This means that the possible ingress of moisture into the recessed light is kept to an absolute minimum. The lights will then last for years, allowing you to enjoy your lighting design design for many years.
